Berlin TXL Management GmbH, formerly Tegel Projekt GmbH, is a fully owned subsidiary of the State of Berlin. It was founded in 2011 to develop plans for the reuse of the former Tegel Airport and is now responsible for the development of the Urban Tech Republic as well as the concept and public infrastructure for the Schumacher Quarter.

One of Europe’s largest and most ambitious urban development projects is taking shape here. Spanning 500 hectares, it brings together residential, research, industrial, and natural elements to form a new part of the city.

Berlin's future begins here

Under construction at Berlin TXL:

Schumacher Quarter: Here, more than 10,000 people are finding a new home in a neighbourhood designed using innovative approaches to housing, transport, energy, water and the development of open spaces

Urban Tech Republic: a research and industrial park for urban technologies, with space for up to 1,000 companies, 20,000 jobs and a university campus with a total of around 5,000 students.

Tegeler Stadtheide: Developed by Grün Berlin GmbH, a nature and landscape area is being created on the former airfield for leisure and recreation, play, sport and environmental education.
