Wood is the building material of the future – renewable, CO2-storing, and warm. It is used extensively in the Schumacher Quartier.
Wood is a natural building material that stores CO2 – an important component of climate-friendly living in the Schumacher Quarter. The neighborhood is being developed as a model for urban timber construction. Even in the first construction phase, the buildings will be constructed with at least 50 percent wood. Both proven and innovative construction methods are being used. The plan is to gradually increase the proportion of wood in subsequent construction phases.
